What's Going on in AUDIENT?
Local Outreach Program 2009
This month AUDIENT will issue a mailing to our participating providers with private practices. We want to thank our providers that are active with our program as well as look for opportunities to encourage providers who have not recently worked with an AUDIENT patient. In order to increase AUDIENT participation, we are planning a new project called Local Outreach Project 2009. We hope that many providers will accept our offer to work together to raise awareness of AUDIENT in their community. We are looking for the names and phone numbers of ten locations, such as senior centers or healthcare agencies, where it may be helpful for AUDIENT to distribute their materials for potential candidates. AUDIENT will contact these locations, send information, and follow up during the year. In this way we hope to build relationships in the community. If you are interested in this project please contact Sharon at or call 1-877-283-4368 ext. 241.
Outreach to Resource Partners
This past month, a variety of resource professionals from seven different states contacted us. These include both local and state wide agencies. They are interested in learning about AUDIENT and looking for ways to help those whom they serve get the hearing help that they need. We love being contacted from these types of organizations because they help get the word out about our program to those in need and in turn increase referrals we are able to make to local hearing care providers.
Maximizing Local Funds Through Partnership
We are working closely with two agencies that are helping to cover the costs of the hearing aids for local seniors who cannot afford even the significantly lower fees through AUDIENT. By partnering with AUDIENT their funds can serve many more very low income families.
If you are an agency with this type of mandate, or know of an agency interested in serving their local low income families in this way, please contact Sharon at or call 1-877-283-4368 ext. 241.
Presentations to our Resource Partners
AUDIENT has been invited to visit the Skagit Valley Hearing Loss Association in Washington State for a presentation. We have a number of active hearing care providers in the area and hope that those who come to the presentation will gain a better understanding of AUDIENT and will help us get the word out to those who may need our help.
We encourage our resource professionals and advocates who are within driving distance of our office in Seattle to please contact us for a presentation in your area.
What are AUDIENT Participants Saying?
Dolores from Apple Valley, Minnesota, wrote to us saying:
"Thank you for helping me get hearing aids which I needed badly. I am happy with them. If I can help in any way I will be glad to do so."
